Yet another Chelsea midfielder is out for the foreseeable future as Ruben Loftus-Cheek suffered a hamstring injury in today's loss against Southampton.
Thomas Tuchel confirmed the injury news and explained why he didn't start Mateo Kovacic: "Hamstring injury [for Loftus-Cheek], next midfielder out. No one left.
"The recommendation for Kovacic was 20 minutes [to play today].
"I also don’t understand why we are in this situation regarding injuries, all players in midfield. We need to find solutions."
The solutions sentence perhaps hints at Chelsea looking for a midfielder in the market before the window ends. With only 2 days left, they will have to move fast to do so.
