RB Leipzig and Inter Milan after Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah on loan
RB Leipzig have joined Inter Milan asking about Trevoh Chalobah on loan.
The Chelsea defender, who has four years left on his contract and the club do not want to sell permanently, is also wanted by Premier League rivals Tottenham and Aston Villa, as well as Serie A side Roma, managed by ex-Blues boss Jose Mourinho.
Centre back Chalobah, 23, broke through at Stamford Bridge last year, making 30 appearances in all competitions and scoring four goals.
Spurs have already signed Barcelona's Clement Lenglet on loan but are unsure about Davinson Sanchez, Japhet Tanganga and Joe Rodon.
Steven Gerrard's Villa, meanwhile, lost summer signing Diego Carlos to a long-term Achilles tendon injury and the club are looking to strengthen in the heart of their defence.
After joining Chelsea at the age of eight, Chalobah was first offered a professional deal at the club in 2016.
The defender struggled to break into the star-studded squad under various managers in the years that followed, and spent time on loan in the Football League with Ipswich and Huddersfield Town and also had a spell in Ligue 1 with Lorient in 2020.
But after the summer signings of Kalidou Koulibaly, Marc Cucurella, who can cover at left centre back, and potentially Wesley Fofana too, Chalobah has slipped down the pecking order.
Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, having successfully brought Timo Werner back to the club from the west London side, are hoping to add Chalobah too, who is familiar with a three-man defence, after Lukas Klostermann's injury.
