Modric reportedly wants to renew Madrid contract each year until 40
Luka Modric wants to retire at the age of 40, Diario AS say. The midfielder is determined to fight for a contract extension at Real Madrid every season until then.
Modric turns 37 in September this year. If the report is true, this would mean that Luka plans to play for at least three more seasons. His current deal expires next year.
For now, it's unclear what Real Madrid's plan on Modric is. The club reportedly wants to sign Jude Bellingham as a replacement in 2023, but maybe they would be okay with keeping Luka as a bench option in the future.
It will likely depend on the level the Croat shows this season. So far, he's been doing great, scoring a goal and providing an assist in three games for the Merengues.
