Man Utd fans threaten to boycott Liverpool match
Manchester United fans are threatening to boycott Old Trafford for their clash with Liverpool live on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football.
Supporters plan to stage the protest at the match against their fierce rivals on August 22 as they bid to make their feelings none to the club's owners. The fixture is the Red Devils' next home match, following their opening weekend defeat at the hands of Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday afternoon.
Fans are now planning to leave their seats empty at the match in 12 days time, with "#EmptyOldTrafford" circulating on social media in the days since the Brighton defeat.
Protests had been held outside Old Trafford prior to Sunday's match, with the club's controversial owners present at the match.
In a bid to drum up support for the upcoming protest, one fan tweeted: "Enough is enough. #EmptyOldTrafford #GlazersOut #GlazersSellUnited".
