Man Utd Boss Ten Hag Axed Ronaldo, Maguire In Front Of Squad

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag drew a line in the sand before victory over Liverpool in a highly-charged team meeting.

The Sun says during the meeting the United boss informed both Cristiano Ronaldo and club captain Harry Maguire that they would both be omitted from the starting eleven against Jurgen Klopp's side. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner is thought to have remained silent throughout the chat, while other players are believed to have had their say.

But the bombshells didn't end there. As the Dutchman offered all players the chance to have their say, so long as he gave his own thoughts first.

Ten Hag even made it clear that if anyone took objection to what he said or his methods, they were free to head for the Old Trafford exit door.

United's manager made clear he was not willing to put his own reputation at stake for the sake of players who had no desire in actually being at the club any longer.
