Lewandowski reveals he could have joined Madrid, replies to ex-agent's claims about his Bernabeu dream
A few weeks ago, Maik Barthel, Robert Lewandowski's former agent, said that the striker had dreamt of joining Real Madrid his 'whole life'.
Barcelona's new signing did not deny this in a fresh interview with Sport1. He did say he only wanted Barca this summer though.
"I haven't had any contact with him for almost five years," Lewandowski said. "A person's thoughts and desires can also change in such a period of time.
"There used to be talks with Real Madrid, but nothing came of it. I always wanted to play in La Liga, that was clear to me.
"And when Barca came knocking this time, Barca was the only option for me. There were other offers, but they didn't interest me."
