De Jong no longer needed to leave for Barca to sign Bernardo
Barcelona want to sign Bernardo Silva even if Frenkie de Jong stays, Diario Sport's Ivan San Santonio reports.
The Portuguese's arrival is no longer dependent on De Jong's departure. This became possible after the club activated yet another economic lever.
However, Frenkie would have to lower his salary in order for Barca to be able to register Bernardo. At the moment, though, the Dutchman is still adamant about lowering his salary or leaving the club.
Of course, this could also lead to overbooking in midfield. Counting Gavi - who is yet to officially be promoted to the first team - Barca have eight players competing for three starting spots.
