As per the most reliable Barcelona source, journalist Gerard Romero, Cesar Azpilicueta will not join the Spanish club this summer.
Azpilicueta wanted his Chelsea future to be sorted before the start of the Premier League season.
However, Barcelona asked for a few more days to resolve their financial issues and figure out how to register new players.
Since the transfer has been delayed and the season starts this weekend, the defender has communicated his decision to Barca and Xavi Hernandez that he won't leave.
David Ornstein adds that Azpi has signed a new two-year deal with Chelsea, extending his ten-year stay with the club.
