'We received some offers for him': Laporta breaks silence on De Jong situation

"De Jong is our player, we really like him. We received some offers for him, but we didn't accept them as of now – we want to talk to him and know exactly what he wants. We need to clarify some aspects of his situation," Joan Laporta has told the media, per Caro De Las Salas.

Both Laporta and Xavi keep telling the media Frenkie de Jong is important to the team. Media outlets, however, insist that the board would gladly part ways with the Dutchman.

De Jong's sale reportedly would allow the club to register all the new signings. The 25-year-old continues to be heavily linked to Manchester United.
