Ten Hag on Crystal Palace win: 'It's only pre-season. There's still a lot of work to do'
When asked if he's happy with the 3-1 win over Crystal Palace, Erik ten Hag told MUTV: "It's pre-season. We are happy with improvement we see but there is still a lot of work to do.
"We scored wonderful goals though.
"That is the demand on the team. We press, we press all day. If we can, we do it high on the pitch.
"If we can't, we do it on low block. But also we have to press and we have to do it as a team."
The Manchester United boss was then asked what the club must improve and he replied: "The timing of pressing, for instance [must be improved]. I still see switches but we must fight and prepare for better presses.
"When on the ball, we play well. But you can see in the end when we are 3-0 up, the belief is increasing. Then also on the ball we can delay and we can postpone and we can fight opponents so they come out [and make mistakes]."
The Red Devils have begun pre-season on a strong note, with three wins in three games so far.
We have three more games to go before we begin the new Premier League season in August. Only time will tell how Ten Hag and co perform in the fixtures ahead.
