Sterling to become Chelsea's highest-paid player, club hoping to complete deal in 24 hours
Chelsea have agreed personal terms with Raheem Sterling, The Telegraph's Matt Law reports.
The Blues are now hoping to finalise the agreement with Man City in the next 24 hours.
Sterling's transfer is expected to be worth around £45 million. The player himself is set to be the highest earner at Chelsea next season, as he's due for a bump from the £300,000 a week deal he has with City.
Last season, Romelu Lukaku earned £325,000 a week, but his wages are now off the books. The current biggest earner, N'Golo Kante, gets £290,000 per week at the moment.
The biggest attraction for the 27-year-old, however, is the increased amount of playing time. Last season, he started 23 Premier League games for City, making seven appearances as a sub.
The hope is that the move will be completed before Chelsea depart for a pre-season tour in the United States, with Sterling expected to be a part of the squad there.
