Ronaldo 'fears' he'll have to stay at United due to club's hard stance
Cristiano Ronaldo 'fears' his hopes of leaving Man United this summer are dwindling due to the club's insistence that he is not for sale, the Daily Mail reports.
"Cristiano remains under contract with Manchester United for another season and is not for sale," the club's spokesperson has confirmed.
Ronaldo's image has been used by the club in the new kit promo on Friday morning - another message that United expect the 37-year-old to stay.
At the same time, The Independent adds that there is not much of a market for Ronaldo either. Chelsea are exploring this opportunity, but Thomas Tuchel is thought to be reluctant to sign the deal off.
The Portuguese was supposed to return to training on Monday but is yet to return to Manchester.
He has not travelled with the squad for the pre-season tour either, with the club stating that the player was given extra time off to deal with a 'family issue'.
