OFFICIAL: Ajax sign Steven Bergwijn from Tottenham

Ajax have confirmed the signing of Steven Bergwijn from Tottenham Hotspur on a deal that runs till 2027.

A press release from the Eredivisie giants read: "Ajax has reached an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur and Steven Bergwijn for the transfer of the Dutchman.

"Bergwijn has signed a contract with Ajax that is effective immediately and will run for five seasons, until June 30, 2027. Ajax will pay a fixed transfer fee of € 31.25 million to the English club."

Ajax boss Alfred Schreuder reacted to the transfer: "It is indicative of Steven's ambition that he chose to make the step to Ajax.

"He is a player with many qualities. He has enormous drive and is also very goal-oriented. Of course, I am happy that we were able to sign him, he adds new quality to our team."

Bergwijn, 24, joined Spurs back in 2019 and scored just seven goals in three Premier League seasons.
