Manchester City prepared to offload Barcelona target for €80 million
Barcelona have recently announced the signing of Jules Kounde, who joins from Sevilla and has become the sixth big-name player to join the club this month.
However, the Catalans are not done yet, as the club are reportedly in the market for more signings. This has been reported by Mundo Deportivo, with the Spanish news outlet suggesting that Barça have been offered the chance to sign Bernardo Silva.
The Portuguese international is the desired choice for Xavi Hernandez, as he looks to find a replacement for Frenkie de Jong. Xavi rates de Jong highly, and as such, he wants to sign a capable replacement, if he is to offload the Dutchman in the summer transfer window.
Bernardo Silva has emerged as the ideal candidate and it appears Manchester City are prepared to offload the former AS Monaco starlet as well.
The report indicates Man City have offered Bernardo Silva to Barcelona. They are expecting a figure of around ̉€80 million for the services of the Portuguese international, as the club look to fund a move for Lucas Paqueta.
As far as Barcelona are concerned, the opportunity to sign Bernardo Silva could be huge, in every aspect. Xavi has been gunning for his services for quite a while now and the playmaker can be an ideal replacement for de Jong next season.
However, with Man City holding out for an €80 million price tag on Silva, Barcelona might not be in a position to afford the player, especially after spending a fortune on signing the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and Jules Kounde, among many others.
Apart from Barça, Manchester City have also offered Real Madrid the opportunity to sign Bernardo Silva this summer, so it will be interesting to how things transpire over the coming weeks.
