Manchester City defender Laporte ruled out until September
Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Manchester City will be without Aymeric Laporte for the next two months.
Ahead of Manchester City's Community Shield match with Liverpool on Saturday, the Spanish tactician revealed the Spanish international will not be available after undergoing surgery.
"Laporte is injured," Guardiola told reporters.
"He had surgery. Last season he played the last few games with an injury, he made an incredible effort but he could not continue to do that.
"So far he's doing really well. You have to be careful because it was his knee.
"If all goes well he will start to be with us in September."
The 28-year-old also missed Manchester City's preseason tour of the United States earlier this month.
