Madrid working to sign Haaland in 2024, to break club record if transfer happens
Real Madrid are looking into the possibility of signing Erling Haaland in 2024, the reputable Mario Cortegana and Carlos Carpio report.
As per his agreement with Manchester City, the Norwegian will have a release clause of €200m in 2024 and €175m in 2025. If Madrid activate either of those, they would be breaking the club record.
Meanwhile, Diario AS say that Madrid will look to extend Karim Benzema's contract until 2024 and then replace him with Haaland.
Erling was on the Merengues' wishlist this spring, but he preferred a move to Man City believing that it was too early for him to come to the Santiago Bernabeu.
