Madrid target former academy player for backup striker role - he has 40 goals over last 2 seasons
Former academy striker Raul de Tomas is on Real Madrid's radar as a possible reinforcement, Manuel Sainz of Diario AS says (4 stars).
The 27-year-old has received multiple offers this summer, but he is waiting to see how Madrid will solve their situation upfront. He prioritizes a return to Santiago Bernabeu.
Meanwhile, Espanyol are ready to sell the striker for €25-30m.
De Tomas has been great over the last two seasons, scoring 40 goals for Espanyol, including 17 La Liga goals last term. His good performances have earned him a call-up to the national team.
As mentioned above, Raul is a product of La Fabrica, spending 15 years at the club before his eventual departure in 2019. However, he played only one single match for the seniors back in the 2014-15 season.
