Luis Suarez reveals his move to River Plate collapsed - he is still free agent
Luis Suarez is yet to find a new club after leaving Atletico Madrid as a free agent this summer.
He has revealed that River Plate made an attractive offer to him - but the deal fell apart.
"I was really tempted [to join River Plate] despite my plan to stay in Europe because River were pushing a lot to sign me," the ex-Liverpool and Barcelona striker told Ovacion.
"But the deal has collapsed as they’re now out of the Copa Libertadores."
River Plate were knocked out of the main South American club competition in the Round of 16 as they lost to another Argentinan side Velez Sarsfield 1-0 on the aggregate.
Suarez is 35 years old, but it looks like he doesn't feel he's done at the top level.
