There has been plenty of transfer talk at Old Trafford, especially after the arrival of new Manchester United boss Erik Ten Hag. The Premier League starts in August, and there is still time to tie some loose ends, with a lot of activity expected in the next few weeks. 

A few names have been released, while there is talk of top targets for the new boss. Names like Barcelona’s Frankie de Jong and Brentford’s Christian Eriksen have been mentioned, but there is nothing concrete to report. However, a new name in Feyenoord’s Tyrell Malacia has emerged.

Feyenoord left-back is set to decide on a move to Manchester United after the Dutch club announced a fee had been agreed upon.

United have intensified their pursuit of Malacia in an effort to outbid Lyon for a deal worth around £13 million.

Feyenoord director of football, Frank Arnesen, revealed United's last-minute effort to recruit the Dutch international. Malacia's transfer to Old Trafford is about to happen, but that will depend on his response.

Erik Ten Hag had extensively scouted the 22-year-old as the Ajax Amsterdam manager, noting his speed, positional knowledge, high interception rate, and capacity to attack space as his main strengths.

Frenkie de Jong's transfer to Manchester United from Barcelona looks imminent. United and Barcelona have agreed on the cost, which is thought to be €65 million (£56 million) with performance-related add-ons, but the inner details are still being discussed.

A lot remains to be done, but there seems to be more optimism that a deal may be reached with favorable personal terms.

Meanwhile, Manchester United United are still hoping to sign Denmark international Christian Eriksen. The player will ultimately decide whether to accept the deal that is already on the table courtesy of his representatives.

After his former side Tottenham revealed they were not coming for him, Eriksen will pick between United and Brentford.

Despite rumors linking Cristiano Ronaldo with a move to Chelsea, the Portuguese star is not for sale, and Manchester United expects him to stay at Old Trafford. Ronaldo is believed to be uncomfortable with United not playing in his favorite club competition, the Champions League. There were also indications of unrest in the United camp following the club’s lack of concrete activity thus far this summer.

Although Ronaldo was discussed at a meeting between his agent Jorge Mendes and Chelsea's new co-owner Todd Boehly last week, new United manager Ten Hag has acknowledged that Ronaldo is a part of his plans.

Twelve years since leaving United for Real Madrid, Ronaldo returned to the team last summer. He scored 24 goals in 38 appearances to finish as the club's leading scorer across all competitions.

Another player attracting many suitors in the United camp is Jesse Lingard. Lingard's agents have received a bid from West Ham United regarding the player's free transfer when his contract with Manchester United expires.

In the 2020–21 season, Lingard enjoyed a remarkable loan stint with the Hammers, scoring 9 goals in 16 Premier League starts.
