Kessie says first words as Barca player, names his role model

"It's a great opportunity to sign for Barca. I want to give everything for this club and I can't wait to start," Franck Kessie has told Barcelona's official website.

"My role model? Yaya Toure, who is Ivorian, like me.

"My best position? The coach will choose the one for me.

"I am a player who gives a lot on the pitch, I work a lot to win titles. I want to win many trophies here.

"When Xavi calls you, someone who was an amazing player and is ready to be a magnificent coach, you know all your efforts have paid off. I can't wait to start working with him," he also said.

Franck Kessie has joined the club as a free agent. He will be officially presented on Wednesday.

The Ivorian midfielder won the Serie A title with Milan last season.
