Jack Wilshere retires from football at age of 30, set to become Arsenal U18s head coach

Former Arsenal and England midfielder Jack Wilshere has formally retired from football.

The 30-year-old's last club was Aarhus in Denmark where he made 14 appearances between February and May.

"It has been an unbelievable journey filled with so many incredible moments and I feel privileged to have experienced all that I did during my career," Wilshere said via Twitter.

"From being the little boy kicking a ball around in the garden to captaining my beloved Arsenal and playing for my country at a World Cup. I have lived my dream."

According to The Athletic, Wilshere is set to be named as the Arsenal U18 head coach. He already spent some time with the youngsters at the club as he was working towards his coaching badges last year.
