Frenkie de Jong talks between Barcelona and Man United 'not collapsed' yet
Manchester United and Barcelona are continuing to negotiate a deal for Frenkie de Jong amid Chelsea's attempts to hijack the deal, as per tier-one journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Negotiations have 'not collapsed', despite club president Joan Laporta's public declaration about doing everything to make Frenkie stay.
Romano also reveals that while Chelsea are interested - their new owner Todd Boehly recently met Laporta - the Blues are yet to submit an official bid.
United, on the other hand, were said to have reached a 'broad agreement' with Barcelona after submitting a bid of around €65 million rising up to €80 million in add-ons.
The delay is believed to be caused by De Jong's wages, with Barca asking him to forego €17 million in back pay.
However, Romano understands that a resolution in these talks is far - it could be either days or weeks away.
