Erik ten Hag: 'I spoke with Ronaldo before this issue came up. He is not for sale'
During his pre-match press conference in Bangkok ahead of the Liverpool friendly, Erik ten Hag was asked by reporters about the uncertainty surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo's future.
The Manchester United boss replied: "So he's not with us. That's due to personal issues.
"We are planning with Ronaldo for this season - that's it. I'm looking forward to working with him."
Reporters then asked Ten Hag about the 37-year-old's desire to leave and the boss said: "He hasn't told me this.
"I have read, but as I say, Cristiano is not for sale, he's in our plans and we want to get success together.
"I spoke with him before this issue came up. I had a conversation him and had a real good talk.
"How to make Cristiano happy? I don't know - I'm looking forward to work with him."
Ten Hag has reaffirmed United's stance that Ronaldo is not for sale. However, his absence remains a concern as the pre-season tour kicks off on Tuesday.
