Chelsea had 'verbal agreement' to sign €10M-rated goalkeeper but deal could collapse after Cech's departure: Romano
Chelsea had a verbal agreement to purchase Chicago Fire goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina for €10M, as per Fabrizio Romano.
However, since Petr Cech has left, there has been no follow-up on the deal and 'it remains to be seen' if the deal could collapse.
Cech was in-charge of scouting players in the goalkeeping department and was handling the negotiations for this deal. The former Blue left his position a week ago.
Romano adds that Slonina was 'really close' to joining in January.
