Carlo Ancelotti got new Rolls Royce after winning one game with Everton, says club's former chief

Carlo Ancelotti did not think twice before leaving Everton for Real Madrid last summer. However, former Everton director Marcel Brands suggests that the Italian tactician was a tad frivolous and impatient during his time at Merseyside.

"We played a great game under Carlo Ancelotti at Tottenham Hotspur, and then he just got a new Rolls Royce," Brands told De Telegraaf.

“I had to talk like a mad man to keep Ancelotti in the saddle, but in the end, he left for Real Madrid because he felt the support of the owners was not there. What are you talking about then?"

Ancelotti was poorly supported by the Everton board in terms of signings, which explains why the club almost went to relegation after Carlo departed.

To prove his pedigree, Ancelotti went on to win the Champions League and La Liga immediately after leaving Everton.
