Barca president: 'We don't want to sell De Jong unless we have no other choice'
"Frenkie de Jong is Barcelona player," Barcelona president Joan Laporta said, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
"We don’t want to sell him unless we have no other choice.
"Of course we know there are offers for de Jong - but we don’t want to sell him."
Barca were said to be pushing De Jong to accept a move to Man United. The Catalans are in financial dire straits and need to sell players or agree further wage cuts to keep doing their transfer business as usual.
They reportedly can't even register new players, Christensen and Kessie, due to a lack of free funds.
Man United are said to be ready to pay €85m for the Dutch midfielder.
