Uefa Fine PSG And Ban Ex-Sporting Director Leonardo For Explosive Reaction To Real Madrid Loss
In a statement released by the UEFA, it's been confirmed that Paris Saint-Germain will be punished for their violent reaction towards the referees after the Real Madrid defeat last season.
"UEFA Disciplinary Committee bans former Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo for one UEFA club match following incidents in their Champions League knockout game against Real Madrid in March."
Los Blancos won 3-2 (on aggregate) leading to frustration among the PSG camp. Former sporting director Leonardo Araujo and president Nasser Al-Khelaifi almost traded blows with the support team at full-time.
Leonardo has been banned for one club game in the Champions League but interestingly, Al-Khelaifi has been cleared of all charges.
Meanwhile, PSG will have to pay €8000 as fine for improper conduct and breaching the rules of conduct.
