PSG President : 'Real Madrid Offered Mbappe Much More Than Us'

During and interview with La parisien Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi said: "For the last five years, I've built up a special relationship with Kylian Mbappe and his family. He has an incredible family.

"I'll never forget that in our first six meetings with him and his parents when he was at AS Monaco, they never spoke to me about money. Never! That’s why I like them a lot, I admire the way he was brought up.

"This year, we spoke a lot, but money was only brought up in the last few weeks. People say he stayed for the money, but Real Madrid was offering much more than us! They were ready to put €170 million on the table last summer.

"They were ready to invest that amount again this year even though he was free! We are in a world where everyone knows each other and the best work for the best. Today, Mbappe is in Paris and that's all I'm interested in."

Mbappe has signed a new three-year contract at PSG despite months of rumours linking him with a move to Real Madrid on a free transfer.

After the agreement was made official, La Liga president Javier Tebas officially complained to UEFA about the financial legitimacy of the deal.
