A picture of young Leo Messi is doing rounds on the Internet. The future Barcelona legend is wearing a firefighter costume for what seems like a school holiday.

The picture is very cute, but there's a sadder aspect to it. At least that's what AlexPMatanza has noticed.
"This photo makes me feel a bit sad... You can see that it's not really a costume, but a raincoat, a construction helmet and a piece of hose..." they write.
"My respect and admiration for his parents, who I suppose did not have the resources to pay for a costume but did everything possible so that their son would wear a costume to school or to the carnival parade like the rest of the children.
"A ten for those parents, for details like this I'm glad they've done well in life."
It's true that Messi's family was not rich, to say the least. They did not have the money to pay for his HGH treatment, but Barca were able to help them with that.
