OFFICIAL: Petr Cech Has Decided To Leave Chelsea
Petr Cech will be leaving Chelsea FC after stepping down from his role as technical and performance advisor, the club have confirmed.
"Chelsea Football Club today announces that Petr Cech, Technical and Performance Advisor, will leave his role effective 30 June," read a club statement.
"Since his appointment three years ago, Cech has provided advice and guidance on all football and performance matters throughout the Club, while strengthening the links between our men’s and Academy teams."
Cech's departure continues to the senior-level management exodus going on at Chelsea after Bruce Buck and Marina Granovskaia's exits were confirmed over the past few weeks.
Todd Boehly has tried to persuade Cech to stay and help with this summer's transfer business but the former Chelsea goalie is convinced this is the right time for him to leave.
This puts additional pressure on Boehly as he has already taken over from Buck as chairman and is handling Marina's responsibilities in the transfer market this summer.
Cech was appointed by Marina and has been vital in securing some of the transfers over the last few seasons including that of Edouard Mendy.
