OFFICIAL: Kurt Zouma sentenced to 180 hours of community service for kicking pet cat

Kurt Zouma has been ordered to carry out 180 hours of community service for kicking and abusing his pet cat earlier this year.

The footage, filmed by his brother Yoan Zouma, showed the West Ham defender throwing his cat, throwing shoes at it and slapping its head.

Judge Susan Holdham told the brothers on Wednesday: "Both of you took part in this disgraceful and reprehensible act with this pet cat. The cat looked up to you to care for its needs.

"The cat wasn't injured but would've been distressed. You are a public figure and others look up to you. In mitigation neither of you have prior convictions. I accept this is an isolated incident and both of you have expressed genuine remorse."

Zouma has also been banned from keeping cats for five years and ordered to pay court costs of £9,000. The Frenchman's two cats had been previously confiscated and placed in a special care facility.
