Newcastle told to stay away from Neymar and Paul Pogba this summer
Speakingg to the Express, former Newcastle United full-back Jose Enrique said: "It would be a massive mistake for them to go for Neymar or Paul Pogba.
"I don't think Eddie Howe will go for these kinds of players. Pogba doesn't suit Newcastle and Eddie Howe will look for a more aggressive, high-intensity player.
"It will be similar to when Manchester City signed Robinho, it didn't work out. The fans would love these players, but they'll go for the money and not the project."
Pogba is officially a free agent this summer after leaving Manchester United although the Frenchman is expected to return to Juventus on a free transfer.
As for Neymar, Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly open to selling the Brazilian this summer although his salary of £3.4 million-a-month is a massive obstacle.
