Newcastle and West Ham linked with summer move for free agent Jesse Lingard
Man United have confirmed that Jesse Lingard leaves the club as a free agent.
The Man United academy graduate leaves the club after making 232 appearances and scoring 35 goals across all competitions, as well as four trophies.
"We’d like to take this opportunity to thank Jesse for all of the memories he’s helped create during his two decades here and wish him the best of luck in his future career," the club statement said.
It's quite symbolic that Lingard played at the Man United academy in the same age group as Paul Pogba. The midfielder is also leaving the club for free - and he does it for the second time in a decade.
As for Lingard, he will have options to continue in the Premier League, with both Newcastle and West Ham linked.
