Liverpool looking to make 350% profit from Ben Davies sale as they set price tag on forgotten centre-back
Ben Davies was signed for £500k from Preston North End back in the January 2021 window, when the Reds were looking for defensive cover due to injuries to all three senior centre-backs.
However, Davies never got a chance to make a single appearance for the club and is unlikely to now do so.
As per the Liverpool Echo, the Reds want to sell him after he spent the last season on loan with Sheffield United. Liverpool reportedly want £4m for the Englishman.
If they can get this figure, it would be a profit of £3.5m, or 350% of the original transfer fee!
Celtic or Middlesbrough are linked, but neither of them have made any official bids yet, however, and “a package would have to be incentivised to reach such a potential figure rather than it being guaranteed.”
