Erling Haaland reveals who convinced him to sign for Man City and it's NOT Guardiola

Erling Haaland's transfer from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester City was officially completed on Monday, June 13.

The striker will now be working under Pep Guardiola but it wasn't the Spaniard who convinced the 21-year-old to move to the Etihad.

In fact, it was Man City forward Riyad Mahrez who convinced the Norwegian to ignore other offers and join him at the blue side of Manchester.

Haaland told City's club media: "Yes, Mahrez told me to come to Man City, so he was right about that. He talks, he said some good things about the club.

First of all, my father a little bit. I was born in England, I've been a City fan my whole life, I know a lot about the club.

"I think in the end, two things; I feel at home a bit here. Also I think I can develop and get the best out of my game at City."
