Erik Ten Hag 'Frustrated' Over Lack Of Movement In Signing Frenkie De Jong
According to The Athletic, a tier-one source, Erik ten Hag is beginning to get a little 'frustrated' as negotiations for Frenkie de Jong hit an impasse.
Despite being in talks, both Barcelona and Manchester United are far from reaching an agreement over the price.
The Catalans stand firm on their €80 million valuation of De Jong, which is what they paid to sign him from Ajax.
However, United's offer with add-ons is around €70 million, leaving a gap of about €10 million.
The Athletic claims Ten Hag understands the importance of negotiating a lower fee. The Dutchman reportedly has a budget of around €120 million to sign new players.
Other areas like centre-back and the attacking unit have to be reinforced as well, leading to a standstill in United's talks with Barca.
That said, Ten Hag is eager to get De Jong at Old Trafford as soon as possible to integrate him with his new teammates during pre-season.
