Dutch FA confirms plans to pay women's team as much as men's team
In a radical move, the Dutch Football Association has confirmed plans to match the wages of their women's team with those earned by the men's national team.
The pay-gap based on gender is present in football, with men generally earning more than women solely because of better sponsors and more coverage worldwide.
While some may feel this is unfair, given that women's football doesn't generate as much revenue, this is a revolutionary step in the right direction.
The Dutch FA shared the following statement: "The Dutch FA will pay the Women's National Team as much as the Men's National Team, starting July 1."
