Chelsea Reluctant To Offer James A New Deal As City Registers Interest

Chelsea is not at immediate risk of losing Reece James as the wing-back is contracted to the club until 2025.

But he's on a £70,000-per-week deal, quite a low salary for a player of his calibre and stature at the club.

Despite this, Chelsea has not yet opened talks over a new deal for the 22-year-old, the Daily Mail claims.

Man City and Real Madrid are tracking James. The Citizens see him as an 'ideal' candidate to replace Kyle Walker while Madrid's interest in him is well known.
