Carlos Tevez announces retirement after losing his 'number one fan'
Former Man United, Man City and Juventus forward Carlos Tevez has not played football for a year, but it's only now that he has officially announced his retirement.
As per Mundo Albiceleste, Tevez did not feel he could play after the death of his father last year.
"I have retired, it's confirmed," the 38-year-old who last played for Boca Juniors said. "They offered me many things, including from the United States. But that's it, I have given everything.
"Playing the last year was very difficult but I was able to see my old man. I stopped playing because I lost my number one fan."
Tevez, who also played for West Ham, scored 84 goals in 202 Premier League games, winning two league titles with United and another one with City.
