Barcelona 'plan 50 per cent pay cut' for almost every first-team player
Barcelona 'plan a 50 per cent pay cut' for all the first-team players, except for those who have recently signed new contracts (Ansu Fati, Pedri, Ronald Araujo), reports Mundo Deportivo's Roger Torello.
This will not apply to the club's new signings – including those who joined in January (Ferran Torres, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang).
Barca's drastic plan may be caused by the fact that many out-of-favour players do no want to leave the club and it would be difficult to terminate their contract.
Besides, rumour has it Joan Laporta has decided not to sign the CVC agreement (h/t RAC1) that would guarantee cash injection into the club's transfer budget.
Of course, some players would not be ready to accept such huge pay cuts, so Barca could force them to leave the club this way.
