'We'd Be Happy To Have A 30 Goal A Season Gay Striker!': Liverpool Fans Back Jake Daniels
Blackpool forward, Jake Daniels has recently become UK's first active male professional football to come out publicly as gay.
He saw widespread support from fanbases across the continent as well as top clubs applauding the youngster's bravery.
Liverpool fans have also been vocal in support of the player and here are some of the best responses.
TheFogDog: "This is fantastic, not just for him but hopefully it inspires others to do the same who unfortunately feel the need to hideaway. Be a rough few years I'm sure, but eventually, it'll end the dinosaur views."
JGlover: "Unbelievably brave from a 17-year-old. Hope he gets all the support he needs and that this makes a genuine difference for others as well."
LimmeyLemmon: "All the best to him, homophobia is still rife among football fans and the press alike, but I hope he gets spared the grief. Time will tell."
IanSwinden: "I think we would all be happy to have a 30 goal a season gay striker at LFC!"
David Hankins: "Doesn’t matter what belief, race or sexuality this club does a lot so no surprise in our support of this young man and hope he has a good career without people casting nasty comments or making his life hell"
Redfansforever: "Absolutely Jack be yourself, we know all these homophobic fans might hit hard atcha, but don’t you worry here in Liverpool we support ya. YNWA"
