'We have proposals and everything is open': Barcelona president Joan Laporta on Frenkie de Jong
During a recent press briefing, Barcelona president Joan Laporta shared an update on Frenkie de Jong amid his links to Manchester United.
Quoted by the MEN, Laporta said: "He [Frenkie] has a lot of quality, he knows our system and he's a player we think should continue at Barca.
"It's also true that he's a highly coveted player and we have had proposals from others.
"Right now, everything is open. It will depend a lot on the issue of fair play."
The Catalan giants are undergoing a financial crisis and are expected to sell a few players to raise funds this summer.
De Jong is one of them and Erik ten Hag reportedly rates the Dutch midfielder, whom he worked with at Ajax, very highly.
The Barcelona man, however, is believed to be keen on staying at Camp Nou. It's either that or join a Champions League club, which is not something United can offer next season.
