Sir Alex Ferguson 'advises' Ronaldo to stay at Man United for another season
Sir Alex Ferguson and Cristiano Ronaldo have been holding private meetings to discuss the latter's future at Manchester United, reports the Daily Mirror.
Ronaldo and Sir Alex live close to each other in Cheshire and have regularly met up during what's been touted as their worst-ever season.
The legendary Scotsman, who played a major role in Ronaldo's growth as a footballer, has reportedly advised the 37-year-old to 'protect his legacy' by staying at Old Trafford for another season.
Ronaldo signed a two-year contract when he joined United last summer. However, the Red Devils have endured a season to forget and will finish outside the top four.
That obviously means they won't play in the Champions League next season, which comes as a blow to Ronaldo.
The Portuguese superstar has never missed the elite competition since making his debut for Sporting CP in 2002/03.
