Rudiger praises Benzema ahead of Real Madrid move

Speaking to DAZN, Antonio Rudiger said: "How long has Karim Benzema been at Real Madrid now, 12 years? That says it all.

"He also had lows and times when he really wanted to leave, but he stayed and it shows how strong his character is.

"Also the thing with the French national team: He is no longer called up and meanwhile wins four Champions League titles. Chapeau what he achieves!

"Since Cristiano Ronaldo has gone, you see his real worth. For me he is currently the best striker. He has everything, his understanding of the game is incredible."

Benzema will have a chance to write his name into history books later this month when Real Madrid face Liverpool in the Champions League final in Paris.

As for Rudiger, the Frenchman will be playing alongside Benzema next season when he moves to the Santiago Bernabeu on a free transfer from Chelsea.
