Laporta Claims Mbappe 'demands €50m Net' In Salary
"Mbappe was asking for €40m or €50m net per season. Not gross, net," Barcelona president Joan Laporta has told CatRadio.
"We will never consider signing a player who asks for €50m net. And then they don't win the Champions League. Some players ask a lot but end up not winning the Champions League," he also said.
Even Leo Messi wasn't making more than €35m net per year at Barcelona. If Laporta doesn't lie here, Kylian Mbappe's demands seem absolutely nonsense.
So will Real Madrid actually pay Mbappe €50m net per season?
The answer is no.
Mbappe will be making €30m net per season at Real Madrid, according to reliable Ramon Alvarez de Mon and Mario Cortegana. However, there will also be a huge signing bonus in the Frenchman's deal with the Whites.
Maybe Mbappe actually asked for €50m net when Barcelona inquired about him – but this is not the case here.
