Klopp On Bus Parade Critics: I Don't Care!

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has rejected critics of their bus parade just hours after losing the Champions League final to Real Madrid.

The Reds returned to the city following the defeat in Paris on Saturday night.

Liverpool returned to Merseyside on Sunday for a trophy parade which was pre-organised by the city council. Klopp and the players presented the FA Cup and Carabao Cup trophies and were joined by the Liverpool Women's team who won the Championship title to earn promotion to the Women's Super League.

The German gave a passionate message of appreciation to the club's supporters for the parade.

“In no club in the world could it happen that you lose a Champions League final the night before, and people arrive here in the shape and mood that they are," Klopp told the club's media outlet.

“It's outstanding. This is the best club in the world, I don't care what other people think.

“I was not sure what we can expect, we spoke about it before about what we have to do because we have to plan these kinds of things with our families.

“But I deeply hoped that we would find something like this.

“It's the biggest sign you can give to the rest of the world. Yes, we won two cup competitions, but we didn't win the last two.

“These people don't forget that and what shift the boys put in, it's incredible. It's such a boost for everything this is to come, unbelievable.

“I'm proud of the players, but I'm proud of the people, to be honest.

“Yesterday at the stadium some things happened that nobody understood, our families were in trouble and these kinds of things.

“But then we come here and see this. When you see the eyes of the people, it's incredible.

“It's the best sign you can get, you don't have to win, you just have to put all of what you have in and throw everything on the pitch, and the people of Liverpool will love you.

“It was a good party last night and it's a good party here.

“We celebrate life, we celebrate the season, we celebrate our two cup wins and we celebrate the championship of 2020."
