Fulham striker Mitrovic breaks Championship goal record after scoring 43rd goal of title-winning season
Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic made history in Fulham’s 7-0 win over Luton Town on Monday, which helped them win the Championship title.
The Serbian striker scored a brace in the game, including his second from the very last kick of the game!
In doing so, Mitrovic set a new record for most goals scored in a single Championship season in the league’s history.
The previous record was 42 goals in a 46-game season set by Guy Whittingham for Portsmouth in the 1992-93 season.
Fulham have scored 106 goals in the Championship this season, becoming the first-ever team to do so in a single league season. They still have one game remaining in this campaign.
