Everton forward Richarlison is facing an investigation from the Football Association (FA) after he was spotted throwing a lit flare into the stands during his side’s 1-0 win over Chelsea.
After he scored the match-winner in the second half, a blue flare was thrown into the pitch by some Everton fans during the celebrations.
Richarlison decided to get the flare off the pitch and proceeded to throw it into the stands, although it isn’t confirmed whether it struck any fans.
An Everton spokesperson addressed the situation, saying: “We will look into the matter but, as far we are concerned, Richarlison was attempting to throw it out of the ground.”
In February, Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliot was contacted by the FA for running around the Wembley pitch with a red flare after his side’s Carabao Cup final win.
