Erik ten Hag believes not retaining Cristiano Ronaldo at Man United would be 'foolish'
Erik ten Hag rates Cristiano Ronaldo very highly and has made it clear that it would be 'foolish' not to retain him at Manchester United, reports The Telegraph, a tier-two source.
The Dutchman reportedly views the 37-year-old forward as a 'key player', following his explosive season for the Red Devils.
Although United have struggled to win games, Ronaldo has led the way with his leadership on the field, his mentality and, of course, his plethora of goals.
With 24 goals across competitions, he's our highest scorer this term and Ten Hag recognises what Ronaldo brings to the table.
In fact, the 52-year-old is devising a plan to build the attack around Ronaldo. However, the Portuguese is unlikely to start every single game as Ten Hag attempts to maintain the attacker's fitness.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo will reportedly not leave Old Trafford this summer and is hoping to be a part of Ten Hag's squad.
