'Each game is revenge': Luis Diaz explains where his passion for the game comes from
In an interview with the official UEFA website, Luis Diaz was asked from where he's got the self-belief and passion that characterise his game.
“From La Guajira (his home region in Colombia)," Diaz answered. "It comes from my roots. I always played football in my town, in my homeland.
"They are my characteristics, they have instilled in me several things that I have today and now I have grown much more. That’s my game.
"Each game is a revenge for always going out to look for more, I know what it costs and I have to take advantage of every moment, every minute I have. The rest is very important for what is to come."
We could've guessed what a player Diaz is after Liverpool decided to step in and sign him in January which is not something they usually do.
However, even Jurgen Klopp himself is probably surprised by how easily the 25-year-old has adapted to the new surroundings. The winger is arguably already in Liverpool's strongest XI - although, as the Villarreal game showed yesterday, he's more than useful as a super-sub as well.
